“If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader.”
-John Quincy Adams
Many of us made resolutions during the New Year, to improve our health. However, we often find ourselves quitting or failing at maintaining our new lifestyle a week into January.
Dan Markovitz, through lean manufacturing principles, found a way to use this analogy and relate it to business. We learned three basic techniques to successfully promote improvement in our organizations and companies.
- Commit to improvement – Turn “being better” into a habit, a daily task.
- Increase value instead of cutting costs – Add new and better features to your products and services
- Keep it all visual- Track progress and work on a clear and visual board.
