BDSM – EARLY STAGE SALES WITH ADAM LIEBMAN

Sales can be a tricky subject to conquer. Especially when you and your business are just starting out. Luckily we had Adam Liebman to shed some light on the subject. Adam is the Executive V.P. of sales at Single Platform and is responsible for building the sales organization, growing the team from 2 to 90 people in less than 3 years. He is one of the many reasons that single platform was sold to constant contact for $100 million! So it is safe to say that there was no shortage of talent at this meet up.

Adam started out with three simple words, test, tune, and scale. These three words were the major part of his presentation. Here are some of the key points

  • Test
    • You will not get it right on the first time
    • Track the metrics
    • Be very clear about the testing process
    • Do try to challenge your prospects
    • Do stop selling sometimes
  • Tune
    • DO NOT hire before you are ready and have a repeatable process
    • When you do hire hire in groups of at least 3
    • Train, hire, and have these groups share their learning together
    • Only change one thing at a time
  • Scale
    • Create  place you want to work
    • Hire people who are like you
    • Celebrate wins
    • Lead, do not manage
    • Set sales goals

With these simple words you can start to take the right steps into making your sales force unstoppable.
